tired, grass, girl scout cookies, violin, pants

3-27-'xx: 8:44pm

ugh. why is it always the ONE SHOW I want to watch that gets canned for a week so they can show some dateline special, or some lame gameshow, or whatever? honestly!

today wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. the tests weren't that hard, percussion ensemble got cancelled......etc. blah. I'm tired, though.

when I got home I went into the backyard and laid down in the grass and stared up at the sky. it was one of those poetic gra, dreary days where it's just about to rain but it never does. kind of calming. I would have stayed outside longer but I started to have a coughing fit so I went inside. I like the grass in our backyard...it's shitty grass by any lawn-care freak's standards...but it isn't coarse like the grass that looks so sharp on manicured lawns...it's springy and soft and green and velvety. the kind of grass that's good for laying on in weather that just barely requires a hooded sweatshirt. anyway, the weather was very poetic, or something. the kind of weather that was like a black and white photograph painted with just a tad of photo-paint.

special thanks to taco for being hilarious and just about the coolest person ever. I read her diary and I think "goddamn, I just gotta go up there and chill!" she's always reminding me of the things that are really important to me, without even trying or thinking about it.

my dad bought thin mint cookies fromt he girl scouts. I could never ever be a girl scout again, I'd be my own best customer as far as those cookies go. thin mints are one of my weaknesses. I remember when I was a little kid, in 2nd and 3rd grade, I was a girl scout. the only things I remember about it are a) the uniform I had and b) the fact that my mom would always forget me andI'd end up staying at the school waiting for her until 6pm. she always felt real bad about it, she was pregnant with my little sister at the time and was pretty absent-minded. it's a good conversation story, though.

I wish my lung infection would go away already, really.

today I discussed with bridget on the subject of buying her old violin. it's a beautiful instrument, and I'd like to have ot a lot. it was involved in a rather unfortunate accident, though, and has a huge crack in it. it's been fixed, and it still sounds great, though. I'm not sure how much she'd be willing to part with it, but she said she'd like to see it go to a friend. I'll have to play it a bit first, of course, but the thing has extreme character and sounds wonderful to boot.

sigh. my feet are going numb again. only a few more days until spring break. man, I wish it was sooner. I need a break.

well, anyway, I suppose I should go take a shower and hop into bead, I'm dead tired and I can always do all that goddamned homework tomorrow. I'd much rather get sleep. so this goddamned infection will just go the hell away!

I think I might get some of those funny tech capri pants, like taco's. they sound comfortable.
