happy traaaails to yoooou

6-20-'o1: 11:53pm

i really did plan to do something today. i ended up getting up at 9:30am...not bad for me. i got online and dowloaded some stuff while i woke up/stretched...got distracted talking to people, but was offline just after 11am. that was ok, considering that's formerly when i would have woken up.

the plan was that i would take a shower and then take the bus over to the other side of town to look for a job. unfortunately, i got to the bus transfer and realized that i had enough money to get to the mall, but not enough to get back. to avoid having to beg for a ride over a payphone, i decided that going home and looking up financial stuff on the web for school would probably be more fulfilling.

so i headed home, swinging by the school as i did. both larsen and lane's cars were outside the band room, so i stopped by to say hi. i scared the crap out of lane, said hi, picked up some flags for the colourguard...never did find larsen. then i braved the heat and went home to the frigid kitchen and filled out forms for the next four hours or so. what an afternoon. thrilling.

and at 8pm, i headed down to the track like i have for the last few days. i ran my mile, then decided to walk two laps and run another half mile. as i was finishing the half mile, i noticed someone throwing something. i saw someone in a yellow shirt scurry behind the shed thing, and i was like, "if i didn't know any better, i'd think that was lizzy." but i decided to ignore it and finish my lap. then, as i was walking by the traincar on the other side of the track, another can flew, this time landing in front of me. it was too weird to be a coincidence, so i stopped and watched someone crawl behind the traincar. someone in converse all stars.

bingo. jacque and lizzy.

the had gone by my house and my dad had told them i was at the track, so they came and harassed me. then, we went to starbucks, where we drank coffee and talked about stuff. then, as tradition demands, we went to hastings. well...tradition, and lizzy's new sunburn. she insisted that we move around to take her mind off it. i looked in vain for the pat metheney cds i'm trying to find, and lizzy looked for a journal to take to spain. she wanted more options, so jacque suggested barnes and noble.

"it closes at ten, i'm sure." i had been there to get something that late once, after a movie. just as they were closing. i was positive.

"no, they close when the movie theatre does...that's at like, midnight." she insisted.

"whatever. we can try." i was up for it. i had nothing better to do.

and it did close at ten. oh well. so we went back to hastings and she got the one there she liked best. they were just closing and they played "happy trails". now i'm home, wired on caffiene, and rambly in an extremely boring way. woooo hoo!
