should i buy an ibook? 8-26-'o1: 6:59pm yesterday was mildly interesting, so here is a play by play for all of you readers, who are my favorite people. 12am-1am: talk to the mike for awhile. 1am: went to bed, very depressed. depression was unrelated to talking to the mike; was actually due to events not worth mentioning that happened the evening before. 6:30am: alarm went off, an event upon which i got up and shut the alarm off, set it for 8:30am, and went back to sleep. too tired at this point to have feelings. 8:30am: alarm went off again. same story was being replayed by npr. this is how it always is, and it always entertains me. still, shut off radio and set alarm for 10:30am. went back to sleep. still too tired to have feelings. 10:30am: woke up to nice classical music on npr. got up, shut off radio, sat down on couch. promptly fell back asleep in very uncomfortable position. 11am: wake up, figure that i should no longer sleep as it is approaching noon. still feel like absolute crap emotionally. also feel guilty for sleeping so long, even though i would have done nothing with those hours anyway. 11am-12:30pm or so: get up, check e-mail because i am a loser. actually have one e-mail from angela, who as of writing this remains the only person who has e-mailed me at the new address. probably because i have not sent out mass e-mail heralding change of address. does not matter, as no one has mailed at rckstrgeek, either...besides people wanting to clear me of debt or send me to raunchy adult sites. sign off, proceed to sit around. later, make call and schedule wednesday's cancelled lesson for 3pm today. 12:30pm-2pm or so: make trip to winco. now actually have food in house. and toilet paper. and enough diet coke so that i won't have to grace food pavilion with my presense to buy it for at least the next three days. bagged all groceries in paper bags. more earth-friendly, and useful when sending packages. 2-2:30pm: debate with father whether or not to go to movies or fair. decide on fair. venture to park and ride. 2:30-2:45: waited for and rode bus to fair. 2:45-4pm: walked around fair. did not consume fried food. got free deck of gateway playing cards. rode bus back home. successful trip. 4-5pm: worked on arrangement of pat metheny's "letter from home" for string orchestra. finished two and a half measures. 5-9:30pm: very strong attack of depression in which i first laid in bed with covers over head listneing to pat metheny, then got up and started taking pictures off my cluttered walls. listened to "distance" and "in her family" while doing this, which cd says is two tracks but is actually only one. did not stop until one picture remained, a polaroid of the beach and four shadows i took, probably in 1994. stopped listening to pat metheny and replaced it with adagio for strings eventually, and sat in my room in the dark doing nothing. 9:30-12pm: at sandwich, felt better. proceeded to eat some toast and a little bit of ice cream. watched america's most wanted. found out i had missed a phone call from taco while the phone was being used by certian other member of house for internet surfing purposes. eventually got online and looked at notebook computers on the internet. the new ibook looks very nice indeed. talked to ben, who told me that i should get one. which leads us to today. i had a lesson at 3...i'm a tad nervous because this was the student that didn't know anyhting about violin until i met her, and now she'll be starting in 6th grade orchestra with my private teacher. i am nervous that i didn't do a good enough job, even though i have tried very hard to do all i can in the very short amount of time i've had. it's like i'm getting judged. yikes. then i actually went and looked at computers today. people working on commission are very friendly and also very pushy. they built me a compaq at best buy, which would cost roughly as much as the ibook i want. i hate compaqs and i am determined NOT to buy one. if you have any advice on what i should buy, e-mail me and tell me because i like guidence. taco said she may or may not have taken pictures of lance's house when she left a message on my machine. good Lord. ←/ b a c k w a r d / f o r w a r d /→ |
