mysterious ways

12-20-'99: about...geez, the clock says 7:38am...that's not right, I wasn't even awake then...

oh, there we go...5:10pm.

riding busses is one of the most not-fun things ever. thank goodness this time I didn't have to ride the greyhound, oh my, that's horrible. I rode a direct tri-cities to seattle bus, and it was actually pretty comfortable. lots of quiet old people and comfortable seats. but the guy played corny christmas music on the CD player all the way up...one particularly annoying CD had music played entirely on the celestia. a celestia is like and orchestra bell/glockenschpeil piano. pretty, but it gets REALLY irritating after awhile, like anything high pitched. anyway, I guess genie tours is taking over this particular bus trip, it used to be done by columbia bus systems, and before that the infamous basset transit.

anyway, along with the new route, the bus had a new stop. the end of the line was, instead of the good ol' seattle grehound bus depot, the amtrak station. which was a bad thing, since my family was on the OTHER side of seattle. I've been to seattle a zillion times, but I've never really had to go farther than I could walk, so I asked the bus driver where he was headed. apparently, he didn't know his way around seattle, so I asked someone at the ticket counter in the amtrak station. they gave me a map and told me to take the underground metro. so I walked up jackson avenue to 5th street, where the terminal was...but on this day, of all days, it was closed. I ended up taking a taxi, but honestly, just my luck.

we then went to southcenter mall and did a little shopping...I was feeling kinda crappy because I hadn't gotten a lot of sleep the night before (from staying up and talking to ben for so long, then getting up at 5:30am) and had tried to counteract that not only with caffiene, but then sleeping after drinking the coffee. that, along with being on a bus, made me feel quite strange...a little sick. the feeling lasted pretty much the whole day.

the rest of the day was pretty uneventful. it's kind of funny on days like that, I always feel like they're a whole bunch of days. like, yesterday felt like three little days in one...the bus ride, being in seattle, and then being at home with my family. it's kinda strange and disorienting.

today was VERY uneventful as well. I slept in until noon and then lazed around for awhile. not interesting in the least. I tried to get on to update this thing last night but there was something wrong with this computer...there's ALWAYS somethign wrong with this computer. I swear. one summer, it got a virus and died...and everyone blamed it on me. recently, something was wrong with the display...everything would be fine until it booted up windows, and then everything was just a bunch of weird lines. hard to explain. now it's just really really slow. stupid compaq, anyway.

snore, I'm boring today. I would talk about the meaning of life except that I can only do that when I feel like it, and right now I don't feel like doing much of anything at all. you just gotta kinda be in the mood for intelligent conversation. or maybe that's just me.

I just found out that some people I know, who work in the movie theatre where I got free soda this summer, were in a really bad car wreck. nathan swerved to avoid hitting a deer and his brakes locked....he ran into a tree and the car went up an embankment and rolled. fortunately, both nathan and jason where OK. the paramedics said it was the worst accident they'd seen where no one died...jason got a nasty bunp on his head and nathan hurt his knee. I guess that's the thanks they get for missing that deer....the world works in mysterious ways sometimes.

well, I guess that's it for now. or something.
