sonnet no. 1: another metaphor
[ previously recorded entry: for an english assignment ] 5-20-'o1: almost midnight [ sonnet no. 1: another metaphor ] so far apart the two of us may seem but more alike than we get credit for. your eyes contain a crisp, nostalgic gleam a starlight gaze that chills me to the core. a secret lurks behind that subtle smile ...and i can only dream 'bout what it hides. oh, could it say you've loved me all the while? i wish your few words were a better guide. you speak infrequently, like summer storms so fickle, unpredictable, intense... and although it's not much, my heart is warmed your rain and lightning make me lose all sense. no metaphor can show these feelings true just three over-used words, yes, "i love you."
